According to the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department who arrived on the scene after a neighbor called 911 regarding the shooting, Christine, 72, told officers she shot her husband, Thomas Roberts, “because that he had cheated on her”. She was charged with criminal homicide.
“The scene has darkened with the passing of Thom Roberts,” Mr. Travis wrote in a tribute on Facebook. The country star added that the ‘gentle giant’ was his ‘friend and I loved him very much’.
“As we leave next week for Randy Travis’ ‘More Life’ tour, the music won’t be so smooth; but, I will once again remember how blessed I was to have Thom Roberts on the road with us for so many miles and so many memories,” Mr. Travis added.
