WHALES: Resident killer whales sighted from west of Seattle

Thanks to Kersti Muul for the tip – the killer whales are in the area again and this time it’s the southern residents – J-Pod. She says they’re heading south in sight of Constellation Park right now, “spread out,” some toward Blake, at least one shuffling through the Bainbridge/Seattle ferry lane. The whales in the area last week have been passing, so the residents’ visit is “a surprise,” she said. Let us know if you see them!
