As the West Seattle Chamber of Commerce throws a party on Thursday night to celebrate its first century, it is looking for a new chief executive to lead it into its second. After two years, whitney moore will be leaving – but not until July 31, after seeing the organization through upcoming events and initiatives, including the Westside Rewards breakfast on May 16. Announcing its resignation to members earlier this month, the House Board said in part:
She helped us through such difficult times between the pandemic and the extended closure of the West Seattle Bridge. Through his leadership, we have expanded the reach of the Chamber, added meaningful programming opportunities for our members, and improved the structure of our organization in so many different ways.
The announcement also noted that Moore’s post-Chamber plans include completing a children’s book. The job description of his successor has not yet been published on the Chamber’s website.
