This map of SDOT shows where work is due to begin soon for the pedestrian improvement in Roxbury/Olson [map], which have been in the works for at least three years. The city has sent out notices to people in the area, but it’s a busy corridor, so many others who use it should know that as well. From SDOT review:
This work will include:
-A new pedestrian signal on the northwest side of the intersection
-Move crosswalks on SW Roxbury St so they are better aligned
-Curb bulbs that extend the corners of the sidewalks for people walking on the south side of the intersection
-Curb ramps for better ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessibility
Once work begins, it is expected to last six months, according to SDOT, with working hours primarily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. They will have flaggers to help close the lanes. Here is the full construction notice.
