As we reported, candidates interested in local elections this fall must officially file their case by 4 p.m. Friday. King County Elections publishes a running list, so we jot down the local highlights each night:
SEATTLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS BOARD, DISTRICT 6
Rosie McCarter (Monday)
Gina Top (Tuesday)
Topp is the newest to join the race for the seat that Leslie Harris is vacating. She is legal counsel to the King County Executive’s Office and past chair of the 34th District Democratscurrently a member of the organization.
KING COUNTY COUNCIL, DISTRICT 8
Sophie Aragon (Tuesday)
GoodSpaceGuy (Tuesday)
Therese Mosque (Monday)
We previously reported the nominations for Burien Aragon mayor and Seattle city council member Mosqueda. Perennial contestant GoodSpaceGuy also filed today.
SEATTLE CITY COUNCIL, DISTRICT 1
Stephen Brown (Monday)
Maren Costa (Tuesday)
Jean Iannelli Craciun (Monday)
Rob Saka (Monday)
Costa, who filed today, is, like the three who filed Monday, one of six who had already announced their intention to run.
Again, if you want to run for one of these positions (or other positions that will be elected this fall), here’s how to do it; the deadline for submission is Friday, May 19 at 4 p.m.
