Two more people filed for Seattle City Council District 1 today as King County elections Deposit week done, and the fields for our three main uninitiated races are finalized – unless someone pulls out before Monday’s deadline. From the KCE list, here are the queues, linked to candidate websites if available:

SEATTLE CITY COUNCIL, DISTRICT 1 – 8 candidates

Preston Anderson (Wednesday)
Lucia barefoot (Friday)
Stephen Brown (Monday)
Maren Costa (Tuesday)
Jean Iannelli Craciun (Monday)
Mia Jacobson (Friday)
Rob Saka (Monday)
Phil Tavel (Wednesday)

SEATTLE PUBLIC SCHOOLS BOARD, DISTRICT 6 – 3 candidates

Rosie McCarter (Monday)
Gina Top (Tuesday)
Maryanne Wood (Wednesday)

KING COUNTY COUNCIL, DISTRICT 8 – 3 candidates

Sophie Aragon (Tuesday)
GoodSpaceGuy (Tuesday)
Therese Mosque (Monday)

Since each of these races has three or more candidates, they will all be on the ballot on August 1 – unless a withdrawal reduces one of the races to two. Your chances of seeing the candidates in person include two upcoming forums – we’re featuring one to which all D-1 City Council candidates will be invited, on the evening of June 6; Democrats in the 34th District are planning a double bill the afternoon of June 10, with D-1 candidates and D-8 county council candidates. We’re also reaching out to all of this week’s new entrants to find out more about them.
