Video proves Jonathan Majors is ‘completely innocent’

A criminal defense attorney representing Jonathan Majors said on Sunday the actor was “innocent” and likely “the victim” after he was arrested in New York for the alleged assault of a 30-year-old woman.

“Jonathan Majors is completely innocent and proven [sic] victim of an altercation with a woman he knows,” attorney Priya Chaudhry said in a statement. Urban Hollywood 411. “We are quickly gathering and presenting evidence to the district attorney in the hope that all charges will be dropped shortly.”

The NYPD confirmed the actor was taken into custody on Saturday, March 25, after the woman “told police she was assaulted.” Majors was charged with strangulation, assault and harassment. He has since been released.

On Sunday, the actor’s attorney provided new details about the incident, revealing that it happened inside a vehicle and was seen by others.

The lawyer said the evidence collected included testimony from the driver and bystanders, as well as two alleged written statements “by the woman recanting these allegations”.

“All the evidence proves that Mr. Majors is entirely innocent and did not assault her at all,” Chaudhry said.

The statement also alleged that the incident was the result of a mental health crisis in the woman.

“Unfortunately this incident happened because this woman was having an emotional breakdown, for which she was taken to hospital yesterday,” the lawyer said. “The NYPD is obligated to make an arrest in these situations, and that is the only reason Mr. Majors was arrested. We anticipate that these charges will soon be dropped.

According to the NYPD, the incident happened in the West 22nd Street and 8th Avenue area around 11:15 a.m.

“The victim informed police that she had been assaulted,” police said in a statement. “The victim suffered minor head and neck injuries and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.”

Shortly after his arrest, a spokesperson for the actor said, “He did nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up.

Majors, 33, is a rising star in Hollywood and is currently playing roles in Creed III And Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania.
