The Red Cross helps 5 people affected by a fire in Pompano Beach

Today local volunteers from the American Red Cross Disaster Action Team, Broward County Chapter, responded to a Accommodation fire on NE 31st Street In Pompano BeachFlorida. The trained disaster team helped coordinate emergency assistance to five (5 people near the fire, two of which (2)children.

The Red Cross is providing emergency financial assistance, health and mental health services, individual support to connect people to available recovery assistance and will continue to provide additional support to family to meet their needs caused by the disaster.

The Disaster Response Team is a group of specially trained local Red Cross volunteer responders who are ready to respond to such emergencies 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Disaster Action Team volunteers also provide emotional support and information to help families begin the recovery process. Red Cross disaster assistance is free, a donation made possible by donations to the Red Cross.
