I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – there are few people better than Politics Girl when she hits her stride on a rant. And she hit her stride as she denounced Kevin McCarthy and the debt ceiling crisis of his creation, just as he promised the Free Dumb Caucasions, uh, Caucus. But it’s one of the oldest plays in the Republican playbook. They create an artificial financial crisis and use it to extort concessions from the Democrats under threat from the American people. It rarely works for them the way they want it to, but they keep coming back to it because cruelty is the goal.
