ABC News examines the violence plaguing the rap community in a special tonight titled Tone Death: loss and hip-hop.

The 30-minute program features interviews with people personally affected by the violence, including Audrey Jackson and Zodiah Freedman, the mothers of New York rappers Pop Smoke and TDott Woo.

During the special, ABC News correspondent Mona Kosar Abdi discusses where this violence is coming from, why it continues and how the rap community can break the cycle, ABC said in a press release.

Chicago rapper G. Herbo is also interviewed, along with reporters; Dr. Jaleel Abdul Adil, Ph.D., who uses hip-hop as therapy for adolescent trauma; and LaToya Swayer, Ph.D., an expert on African-American cultural rhetoric.

Tone Death: loss and hip-hop debuts Tuesday, March 14 (8:30 p.m. EDT / 9:30 p.m. PDT), on ABC and airs the following day on Hulu.
