Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James has been making waves in the NBA world after sending out a rather hilarious tweet following Kyrie Irving’s trade to the Dallas Mavericks.
Hours after the Mavs closed the deal for Irving, James took to Twitter to say, “Maybe that’s me.” Many fans assumed he was talking about Kyrie’s trade and the Lakers’ failed pursuit after they expressed interest in him.
Does LeBron blame himself for the Lakers’ failure to get Irving? Or is he saying Irving didn’t want to join Purple and Gold because of him? A lot can be gleaned from that simple tweet, and sure enough, the NBA world had a field day using it.
Fans couldn’t help but mention Taylor Swift and her song “Anti-Hero” when discussing the Lakers star’s tweet.
“Looks like the title of a Taylor Swift song,” NBA insider Keith Smith wrote.
“I missed a great opportunity to quote Taylor Swift on Grammy night,” added another commenter.
Meanwhile, some could only share their shock over James’ tweet as it didn’t seem characteristic to him. Everyone is used to his cryptic emoji reactions, but his latest post is quite different.
“He tweets like a Latina on Snapchat,” one fan joked. “You will burn in hell for your sins [Rob] Pelinka”
Another Twitter user added, “Me after my girlfriend broke up with me on my 16th birthday.”

Let’s hope LeBron doesn’t do a song after his botched reunion with Irving.
