Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens get a destination wedding
Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens officially married in a ceremony at the courthouse in Houston, Texas on April 22, 2023.
Even though they are now legally married, the wedding festivities have yet to be celebrated. The Olympic gymnast, 26, confessed during an Instagram Story Q&A a day after their courthouse wedding that they were planning a destination wedding.
Biles told his followers on Instagram,
“We’ll be having a wedding in a few weeks. We had to get married ‘legally’ here in the United States because our wedding will be a destination wedding,”

Additionally, the bride-to-be has yet to share the location of her destination wedding.
However, she mentioned that some of her guests were waiting for passports, so it is possible that they will exchange vows outside the country.
Simone Biles gives some glimpses of her wedding outfit
The Olympic gold medalist revealed over the weekend on her Instagram story that she will be wearing four dresses for her upcoming destination wedding.
“How many dresses are we going to see?” a fan question during the Q&A segment, to which Biles replied that she picked out four wedding dresses for her big day. She explained,
“It’s a bit dramatic but you only have a wedding once,”
Additionally, Simone gave her fans a preview of the rest of the day, revealing that the couple had chosen a champagne, gold and white color scheme for the upcoming wedding.
She then admitted that she and her NFL star husband had overworked the decor, saying their flowers were the most expensive items. She joked,
“We went so far over budget that we decided there was no more budget,”
Additionally, she said eight bridesmaids and seven groomsmen will walk them down the aisle and 140 guests will witness their exchange of vows.

The ceremony will be held in an intimate setting as she would not be providing more to her friends and family. She revealed,
“I know it’s controversial, but I still meet people day to day, and I love it. But on my wedding day, I didn’t want to meet new people.
