NASSAU, BAHAMAS – New Providence Police are investigating a Sunday night shooting in the Nassau Village community that left one person dead.
It was reportedly shortly before 9 p.m. Sunday night when police were alerted via Shot Spotter technology to shots being fired in the Nassau Village community. Officers drove to the area where they observed a gray Nissan Cube exiting Jackson Street driven by a woman. The vehicle was pulled over and officers discovered a male inside the vehicle with gunshot wounds.
Police escorted the vehicle to Princess Margaret Hospital; however, while in hospital, the victim succumbed to his injuries.
The victim was reported to be on Jackson Street near a local take-out restaurant when he was approached by the occupants of a small gray Japanese vehicle which opened fire, wounding him in the upper left back.
