Popular delegate and pageant favorite Biggs was crowned Miss Universe Australia on July 7, 2011 at the Sofitel Hotel in Melbourne, beating 21 other delegates from across the country. This earned her a spot in the Miss Universe pageant, held in So Paulo, Brazil on September 12, 2011, where she finished in the Top 10.

Scherri-Lee began her career with the Seven Network in Melbourne as a reporter for sporting events broadcast on Seven Sport and the daily travel show Coxy’s Big Break until two years later when she moved to Perth .
