Back in the 1999 NFL season, after quarterback Vinny Testaverde was injured in the season opener, Mirer took the helm after winning four ten games. Parcells later introduced him in 1997 by placing him at quarterback with second-string QB Neil O’Donnell lined up at wide receiver.
On top of that, he settled into a shotgun formation and ran the ball himself about 15 yards while confusing the Vikings defense in a play that ultimately led to a Jets victory.
