Minutes before meeting with law enforcement in Manhattan to seek his formal indictment, Donald Trump took to Truth Social to send a final message to his fans before his case begins.
Trump said in his message that his trip was “surreal” and that he would soon be detained.
“I’m going to the Lower Manhattan Courthouse. They’re going to ARREST ME, it seems so OUT OF WORLD. Amazing it’s happening in America. MAGA!” The former president wrote as he drove to the Manhattan courthouse in a convoy of cars.
There were both pro and anti-Trump protesters outside the courthouse as well as a deluge of media cameras. Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who was part of the latter group, led a brief protest that was interrupted by the boisterous crowd waiting for the former president.
Trump frequently used Truth Social on Tuesday to talk about everything from the location of his scheduled trial to the district attorney pursuing his case. In reaction to news that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is preparing an indictment regarding alleged silent money payments the former president allegedly made in secret to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to cover up an alleged affair, Trump recently predicted he would be arrested.
