According to Shively Police Sergeant Jordan Brown, a man lost his life following a shooting on Sunday afternoon at the Shively Animal Clinic & Hospital.
Law enforcement officials received a call around 6:27 p.m. reporting a fight that broke out inside the facility and eventually resulted in gunfire.
Police were quickly called to the 2400 block of Dixie Highway in response to the incident.
Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers discovered a man in his twenties with gunshot wounds.
Sergeant Brown said the victim was immediately taken to University of Louisville Hospital, but unfortunately he did not survive.
Authorities have identified everyone involved in the shooting, but no further details have been provided.
The investigation is currently ongoing.
