The new lineup comes after Robach and Holmes were dropped from CMG3 in December 2022, following reports that the pair were involved in an intimate relationship while both were married to other people.
They were sidelined to avoid “distractions” after becoming tabloids and have since left the network.
Pilgrim joined ABC News in 2015 as a New York-based correspondent and served as a co-anchor on weekend editions of CMG since 2018. Morgan joined ABC News in 2022, after working as a morning co-anchor at KCBS in Los Angeles.
The two regularly filled in as hosts of CMG3 after the Robach and the Holmes were taken off the air.
ABC News correspondent Gio Benitez will join the CMG Saturday and Sunday shows alongside current co-presenters Whit Johnson and Janai Norman. Benitez has served as ABC News’ transportation correspondent since 2020.
“I am incredibly proud of the reporting Eva, DeMarco and Gio have brought to ABC News. They join their colleagues Whit, Janai and Dr Jen whose unwavering commitment to bold, direct journalism has been integral to the success of their programs. respective,” Godwin said in a statement. “I must also acknowledge the incredible work of the teams led by executive producers Simone Swink and Cat McKenzie, whose programs are where most Americans turn for daily news, analytics and more.”
