Local officials and witnesses have reported that police are currently dealing with a mass shooting that occurred at a dance studio in Dadeville, Alabama, where a teenager’s birthday party was taking place.

Limited information is currently available about the incident, but it happened around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, prompting officers to respond to a shooting at the Mahogany Masterpiece Dance Studio in the small town of Dadeville, Tallapoosa County.

According to law enforcement officials at the scene, a rally in downtown Dadeville turned deadly early Sunday morning, leaving more than 20 people injured in the shooting.

Investigators say a potential altercation may have led to the shooting at the rally. Multiple law enforcement agencies, such as the Dadeville Police Department, the ALEA State Bureau of Investigation and the Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Office, responded to the incident and are currently investigating.

Authorities have not released an official death toll, but a witness shared a disturbing photo that revealed at least six teenagers lying on the ground.

However, according to another witness present at the scene, the real number of victims would probably be higher, several individuals having perished on the spot.
