Squerciati made her debut in The Nutcracker by Emile Ardolino in 1993. In 2009, she made her film debut in It’s Complicated. She appeared in the films Alter Egos and Frances Ha in 2012. Squerciati received the Agnes Moorehead Award for her performance as Judy Holliday in the Lucille Lortel Theater off-Broadway play Just in Time: The Judy Holliday Story. Squerciati made her Broadway debut in Casey Nicholaw’s Tony Award-winning adaptation of Ernst Lubitsch’s To Be or Not to Be. She appeared in Manipulation, Beauty of the Father and other off-Broadway plays. Squerciati was a member of The Essentials and originated the role of “Kerri Taylor” in the musical Cappella Perfect Harmony.
In 2009, she made her television debut in Law & Order: Criminal Intent. After starring in guest roles on The Good Wife, Damages, Blue Bloods, and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit in 2010 and 2011, she rose to prominence in the fall of 2011 with an eight-episode arc in the fifth season of Gossip Girl. She appeared as a Soviet spy on the FX series The Americans in 2013. Squerciati was cast as Officer Kim Burgess in the Chicago Fire spin-off series Chicago PD in August 2013. On January 8, 2014, the show made its debut. The seventh season premiered on September 25, 2019, and NBC announced on February 27, 2020 that the show had been renewed for an eighth, ninth, and tenth season.
