According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, a shooting occurred at a Wawa in Riverview on Wednesday evening, resulting in the death of Jacob Larson.

Deputies were notified of the incident around 8:30 p.m. following a report of gunshots at the intersection of US Hwy 301 and Gibsonton Drive.

When Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Deputies and the County Fire Rescue Team arrived, they discovered that Larson had been shot in the chest.

Larson was then taken to hospital, but sadly later passed away.

Sheriff Chad Chronister expressed his disappointment at the disregard for human life demonstrated in this incident and assured that they were determined to bring the perpetrator to justice.

According to deputies, the suspects fled the scene after the shooting.
