U.S. Representative Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) recently introduced a resolution to expel Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) from Congress. Luna’s decision comes just days after the conclusion of the Trump-Russia investigation by White House Special Counsel John Durham, who concluded the investigation had no justifiable basis. As chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, Schiff had repeatedly claimed that his panel had uncovered an “abundance” of evidence linking the Trump campaign to the Russian government.

The freshman House representative shared this message on Twitter: “Knowingly using your position on House Intel to push a lie that tore our country apart, cost taxpayers millions of dollars and allowed to spy on an American President, then doubling down on the lie within days of the Durham report release makes you unfit for office,” the Florida congresswoman wrote in a tweet on Wednesday. “Ethics should investigate.”

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy alluded to Adam Schiff’s expulsion in light of the Durham Report, saying, “That raises the question of Adam Schiff. Remember when Adam told the American public he had proof? Remember when he said he didn’t know the whistleblower? This comment came before the decision to evict Schiff.

During and after the Mueller investigation, Schiff claimed to have evidence of collusion between Trump’s presidential campaign and the Russian government. He vaguely mentioned in a 2017 interview with Meet The Press that there was non-circumstantial evidence, making his claims more believable.

In an interview with MSNBC earlier this week, the California congresswoman, who plans to run for Senator Diane Feinstein’s seat when she retires in 2024, called the Durham report a “flawed” investigation. Schiff said, “This is an investigation that had a poor start, a flawed course of investigation, and a flawed course of conclusion.

Despite the Mueller and Durham reports clarifying the Trump campaign, Schiff insisted there was evidence of “collusion” and “obstruction” on the Trump campaign side.
