Camila’s fame came when she was part of girl group Fifth Harmony. It was one of the best-selling girl groups of all time. While in the band, Camila also started working on her solo career. She collaborated with Shawn Mendes and Machine Gun Kelly and released a few albums with them that made it to the US Billboard Top 100 list.
At the end of 2016, Camila left Fifth Harmony to focus on her solo career. And her debut studio album in 2018 reached No. 1 on the US Billboard 200. It is certified Platinum by the RIAA. Camila’s mental state and the banning of her Tumblr account
Camila suffers from anxiety and obsessive-compulsive disorder. She revealed she was in therapy for it and urged her fans to take care of their mental health.
There were old posts by Camila on Tumblr that she reblogged in 2012-2013. These surfaced on Twitter in December 2019. It featured several racial slurs and used derogatory language. In a post, she made fun of Chris Brown for attacking Rihanna.
After that, Tumblr deleted his account. Camila issued an apology stating that she was young, uneducated and ignorant at that time. She expressed her embarrassment over these messages. Further, she tweeted:
“I would never intentionally hurt anyone and I regret that from the bottom of my heart.”
She said those statements did not represent the person she is now and wrote:
“I use my platform to speak out against injustice and inequality and will continue to do so,”
