Beaumont Police detectives are still interviewing witnesses and investigating the homicide and aggravated assault that occurred on Saturday March 18, 2023. Three arrests have been made in connection with the incident, but detectives are still investigating and may proceed to further arrests.

There was a large crowd at the scene. Investigators are calling in witnesses and asking for any cellphone footage or surveillance footage from businesses in the area. If you witnessed the incident, have video, and have not yet been contacted by investigators, call 409-832-1234.

On Saturday March 18, 2023 at 2:53 a.m. Beaumont Police responded to 6550 Phelan, The Crossing in reference to trespassers parking on the property and marching to DMoney Daiquiris Lounge, 6632 Phelan.

Officers were on scene when multiple shots were fired in DMoney’s parking lot. Officers stopped a black Mercedes van with 14 occupants. A 16-year-old minor fled the van and was apprehended.

The minor had 3 firearms on him and officers recovered 5 other guns from the van. A gray GMC Sierra with two victims was located in the Burger King parking lot on Phelan.

The driver suffered a non-life-threatening injury and the passenger, Geraldo Escamilla, a 30-year-old man from Beaumont, died. Detectives interviewed witnesses and suspects and obtained murder and aggravated assault warrants for Armani Rashad Wallace, a 20-year-old man from Orange and Jaren Battles, an 18-year-old man from Orange. Wallace and Battles were transported to Jefferson County Correctional Center.

Bail for murder is $950,000 and bail for aggravated assault is $500,000.
