Fred worked at WJR-AM in Detroit, WLLZ-FM in Detroit, WCSX-FM in Detroit, WVFN-AM in Lansing, and 92.1 The Ticket FM Sports Radio in Lansing, among other Michigan radio stations.
At WLNS, he was recognized as the top sports commentator by the MAB (Michigan Association of Broadcasters) and the Associated Press with over a dozen awards.
Fred spent 17 years at WLNS-TV in Lansing, where he produced, wrote and presented more than 50 hour-long sports specials and won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Reporting for WJBK-TV in Detroit.
He also did radio play-by-play for the University of Michigan Basketball for two years in the mid-1990s. Other accomplishments include being chosen for the Focal Reports Popularity Lobby Michigan College in 2018 and having worked on the scoreboard at Tiger Arena for a time during the 1980s! He is a below average golfer and an avid collector of sports memorabilia.
