Update: Maine State Police arrested and charged Joseph Eaton, 34, of Bowdoin with the murder of the four victims located at the Augusta Road residence in Bowdoin this morning.
An ongoing investigation is underway in Bowdoin after four people were found dead at an Augusta Road residence on Tuesday.
The incident was reported before several vehicles were shot down on I-295 in Yarmouth, authorities said.
The two incidents were confirmed to be related by state police and a person of interest was apprehended.

Maine State Police released the following statement:
Maine State Police are currently investigating multiple shootings that occurred in Bowdoin and Yarmouth on Thursday morning April 28, 2023. Both shootings are related. Investigators are currently working on these scenes and will close I-295 southbound at Mile Marker 20 in Freeport to Exit Ramp 15 in Yarmouth indefinitely. A person of interest has been detained in this case. After investigation, law enforcement has determined that there is no threat to the public at this time. Following the shooting, four people were found dead inside a house on Augusta Road in Bowdoin. Shortly after, at approximately 10:30 a.m., three people were shot while driving their vehicle south near Mile 17 and Exit 15 in Yarmouth. The victims were taken to a local hospital and one person is in critical condition. The four people who died in Bowdoin were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy will be performed to determine the manner and cause of death.
