On Thursday, Republican Representative Byron Donalds of Florida endorsed former President Donald Trump for the presidency in 2024, saying Trump is the only one capable of getting the country back on track at this point.
In a statement, Donalds said only one person could “capture this moment in our nation’s history and provide what we need to get us back on track, bring strength and determination.”
He continued, “It’s an honor for me to support President Donald J. Trump. Despite rumors that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis may enter the race and serve as Trump’s chief rival in the GOP, Donalds is now the third Republican from Florida to back Trump.Representatives Matt Gaetz and Anna Paulina Luna have previously shown support for Trump’s 2024 quest for the presidency.
Because voters will determine the future of our country, the 2024 presidential election is particularly significant. Voters must choose the Commander-in-Chief who is best positioned to lead our nation and stand in the breach, putting themselves on the line and willing to sacrifice everything to save our Republic. This choice will be essential to the election. Elections aren’t all 2024 is. The history of our country and the entire planet is at a crossroads right now, he said.
Look around you now. It’s a waste of our economy. Our families are struggling to make ends meet because of inflation. Our borders are now completely unsecured. Our legal system has become unjust. Foreign leaders test us and talk about World War III. Simply put, far too many Americans have lost hope and even faith.
I firmly reject this as our future. America is the best country man has ever known. Leaders have stepped forward and seized the moment during the most difficult times in our history. Not just anyone, but truly transformative individuals who have the will and the courage to rise above the chaos and inspire a generation of Americans to follow their example despite what may seem like insurmountable challenges.
