Daniel Radcliffe becomes a dad at 34! Him and his longtime girlfriend Erin Darke welcomed their first child together in April this year.
The new parents did not share their child’s gender until the Harry Potter The star gave an update on her newborn baby in an interview in early July with entertainment tonight.
He shared with the outlet while gushing about his three-month-old son, stating,
“He’s great. It’s crazy and intense, but he’s wonderful and Erin is amazing. It’s also a real privilege to spend this time with him.
However, the name of his son has not yet been revealed.
The couple prefer to keep a low profile as they have rarely shared insight into their personal lives. They kept the news of their pregnancy relatively secret until the child was born.

Likewise, he opened up about his experience of being a first-time father in a new interview with Additional.
“He’s very cute. We’ve moved on to a less glaring phase and he’s now giving us little smiles and chuckles. It’s been a crazy few months, as anyone who’s experienced parenthood would attest, but it’s also the literal best thing that’s ever happened, so that’s great. I feel very lucky to be able to spend this time with him. It’s great.
Daniel Radcliffe said his first priority would always be his son
In an interview with ET, Daniel Radcliffe said he’s taking a career break for a while to spend time with his newborn baby. He said on the way out,
“I was always going to take time off, which not everyone can do, so I’m spending a lot of time here with him, which is lovely and we’re having an amazing time.”
However, Radcliffe assures that he is not completely on hiatus but will make up his time for a project. He said,
“I think it will certainly [change]. It hasn’t really affected things yet, but I really enjoy spending time with him, and I think I’m going to miss him when I get back to work later this year.
“So I will definitely be, I think, a bit more selective – not more selective, I’ve always been selective – but I think I’ll probably work a bit less over the next few years.”
“I will never stop. I don’t think it’s good for me either.
Before welcoming a son, Daniel Radcliffe spoke about his desire to start a family while explaining how he will educate them. He recounted in a 2022 interview with Newsweek,
“I would like them to be around film sets. A dream would be for them to come to a film set and be like, ‘God, you know, I would love to be in the art department.’ I would love to be something in the crew.
