Kim Kardashian’s 2023 Met Gala reminds fans of her Playboy cover
Kim Kardashian rocked the 2023 Met Gala in a bead-filled Schiaparelli dress that reminded fans of something from the past.
Netizens then compared her look to a different and controversial time for her 2007 Playboy cover.
Fans recalled the infamous shooting featured in a Season 1 episode of keeping up with the Kardashians where the reality TV star could be seen sporting only a few strands of pearls and nothing else.
Although the look is nothing like the past, fans couldn’t help but draw comparisons between the two.
A TikTok user wrote,
“Please tell me I’m not the only one who immediately thought of shooting Kim’s playboy…”
Another Twitter user wrote,
“#KimKardashian gives playboy #Metgala.”
Another fan added,
“Kim Kardashian really recreated her Playboy shoot for the girl I met lol what,”
A Twitter user agreed that the style “just looks like her Playboy shoot but couture.”
Speaking about this year’s theme which honors the late Karl Lagerfeld, Kim told Vogue,
“What’s more Karl? Chanel’s signature pearls are what I’ve always thought of, so we just wanted to be dripping with pearls.

Kim reunited with Pete at the Met
Kardashian also noted that some of the beads fell on the carpet and her daughter helped out by picking them up for her.
Kim also made headlines at the Met when she reunited with her ex Pete Davidson 9 months after their split.
The couple who called him in August 2022 were seen laughing and chatting with singer Usher.
Last year, the duo made their red carpet debut at the star-studded event and even shared a sweet kiss while walking down the stairs of the museum.
Davidson looked casual in a Fendi t-shirt, leather pants and trench coat and was engaged in deep conversation with the mother-of-four.
Kim made global headlines last year wearing Marilyn Monroe’s famous Happy Birthday dress and the SNL host even helped her with the dress.
They dated for nine months before calling it quits, but decided to stay friends after that. They met while the Skims founder was hosting an episode of the show in October 2021.
A source said at the time,
“They have a lot of love and respect for each other, but found that the long distance and their demanding schedules made it very difficult to maintain a relationship,”
However, some have claimed that the couple’s huge age gap played a part in their split.
