Ellenos Real Greek LLC Issues Allergy Alert Over Undeclared Eggs in Costco 4oz Vanilla Bean Yogurt Cup in 12 Pack

Ellenos Real Greek LLC of Federal Way, WA recalls Vanilla Bean Greek Yogurt 4 oz. cups, sold in a Costco 12-Pack case, item #1340833, as they may contain undeclared eggs. People who are allergic or sensitive to eggs are at risk of a serious or even fatal allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Vanilla bean Greek yogurt 4 oz. mugs sold in a Costco 12-Pack Case, Lot #073, at Costco Warehouse in Alaska, Oregon, and Washington. Greek yogurt with vanilla bean 4 oz. mug has the assigned BEST BEFORE date of 4/23/2023 printed on a blue foil seal.

The 4 oz vanilla Greek yogurt cup has UPC 8 57290 00620 1 and it is sold as part of the case of 12 and each case has UPC 8 57290 00617 1. This is a refrigerated item and packaged in a clear plastic cup with a blue aluminum seal and can be identified by the blue letters on the front panel display.

The Marionberry 4oz. cups with the expiry date 04/23/2023 are not affected by this recall. No other Ellenos brand yogurt products of any other size or similar were affected.

No cases of illness or death have been reported to date.

The recall was initiated when a few 4oz cups containing bright yellow puree instead of solid white yogurt with flakes of vanilla bean were discovered in cups of vanilla yogurt. After a full internal investigation, it was determined that Vanilla Bean yogurt cups had been inadvertently used and packaged with Lemon Curd yogurt product. The Vanilla Bean yogurt cup label does not declare eggs.

This recall is being made with the knowledge of the United States Food and Drug Administration.

John Tucker, CEO of Ellenos, said, “We learned of the labeling error today and immediately contacted the FDA, our distributors and our retail partners of the labeling error and to notify an immediate recall of 4 oz Vanilla Bean sold as part of a Variety Pack. We take the health and safety of our consumers extremely seriously and wanted to remove mislabeled products from the market as soon as possible. »

Consumers allergic or sensitive to eggs who have purchased the affected product are urged not to consume the product and to discard it or return it to their place of purchase for a full refund.
