Hours after police announced he had been found safe and sound, Drake Bell tweeted about his “disappearance” on Thursday afternoon.

“You leave your phone in the car and you don’t answer for the night and that?” the actor and singer tweeted with a laughing emoji.

Bell, whose full name is Jared Drake Bell, was initially reported missing by the Daytona Beach Police Department in a Facebook post early Thursday morning.

Police described Bell as “missing and in danger” and said he was last seen driving his gray 2022 BMW in the Mainland High School area before 9 p.m. Wednesday.

When some residents reacted to the post with skepticism, the department added a comment saying, “For those asking, this is a legitimate post from the Daytona Beach Police Department.”

A few hours later, Bell was found.

“At this time, we can confirm that law enforcement officials are in contact and that Mr. Bell is safe,” the department wrote in an update to the first Facebook post.

Born in Newport Beach, California, Bell began his entertainment career as a child in the early 1990s.

The 36-year-old star has faced a series of run-ins with the law, including a drunk driving conviction in the Los Angeles area in 2016.
