Dominion Voting Systems’ lawsuit against Fox delayed a day

  • Post category:news

The start of the highly anticipated libel case between Dominion Voting Systems and Fox News has been postponed until tomorrow, presumably to allow the two sides to hold conversations about the possibility of a settlement. Via the Washington Post:

No reason was officially given for the delay, which was announced by the judge handling the case on Sunday evening. Jury selection was due to end on Monday, then both sides were due to make opening statements, kicking off a week-long trial. Voting technology company Dominion has filed a $1.6 billion defamation lawsuit against the network, alleging Fox guests and hosts defamed the company and seriously harmed its business by linking it to a conspiracy to to fraudulently steal the 2020 presidential election.

In a statement provided by a public information officer Sunday evening, Delaware Superior Court Judge Eric M. Davis said only that he would make an announcement Monday morning delaying the proceedings for 24 hours. But two people familiar with the matter said the two sides were due to meet on Monday to see if a last-minute deal to avoid a trial could be brokered. One of the people said the judge had asked the parties to make a final effort to settle the matter before going to trial..

No, man, we really, really, REALLY want to see this trial! We want all true American crime buffs glued to the small screen as we follow the tale of how Fox completely fabricated the Dominion voting machine story – just to keep a certain giant baby from moaning.
