Tom Cruise is no longer close to his daughter Suri Cruise

Tom Cruise continues to be away from the life of his daughter Suri.

A source confirmed that the Impossible mission The 60-year-old actor hasn’t seen his 16-year-old teenage daughter Suri in a while. He would be a small part of her life now.

The Hollywood legend welcomed Suri with then-girlfriend Katie Holmes in April 2006. Things changed when Cruise and Holmes separated in 2011 and the father-daughter relationship grew further apart.

In the 2012 libel suit against Bauer Media, Tom admitted he hadn’t seen his daughter for three months right after he and the first daughter the 44-year-old actress has ended their marriage.

He told lawyers in 2013,

“Listen, when there’s a divorce…things change,”

“It’s not an ideal scene. This is not an ideal situation.

Additionally, Cruise also explained during a deposition for that same $50 million lawsuit that his Scientology ties played a huge role in his split from his daughter.

He was asked if Katie left him “partly to protect Suri from Scientology.‘ Cruise said at the time, “That was one of the assertions, yes.”

It happened again in 2016 when the controversial church was again blamed for splitting up Tom and his child. This is because its rules suggest that members are not allowed to associate with non-believers.

Katie wants to keep her daughter away from Tom’s drama

Because neither Suri nor Katie were Scientologists, they couldn’t keep a relationship with Tom.

A source said at the time,

“It’s his loss, his problem, his problem”

“He really needs to be brainwashed.”

Former Scientologist Leah Remini said in 2020 that Scientology considers Katie a suppressive person. He considers her an enemy. This is the reason why Tom thinks he “cannot be connected to Suri”.

Leah fought to expose the wrongdoings of the Church of Scientology. She speculated about Tom,

“I’m sure his master plan is to wait until Suri gets older so he can lure him into Scientology and keep him away from his mother.”

Aside from all the drama involving her famous father, Suri leads a relatively normal life with her mother in New York.

Her whole life has been very public and over the years she’s casually gotten pumped while shopping or hanging out with her pals.

In 2017, Katie was candid about wanting to give her daughter a normal childhood.
