A third woman has died from injuries she sustained in a stampede at a concert in Rochester, New York, headlined by rapper GloRilla.

Police told local news station WHAM-TV that Syracuse resident Aisha Stephens, 35, died Wednesday night.

The outlet reported that Stephens was “the last remaining hospitalized victim” of the stampede.

Stephens was among several people trampled on Sunday, March 5, when onlookers rushed to the exit inside the Main Street Armory.

Rhondesia Belton, 33, of Buffalo, died shortly after being taken to an area hospital. Brandy Miller, 35, of Rochester, died the following day.

Seven other people sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The crowd rush happened around 11 p.m., after Memphis rappers GloRilla and Finesse2tymes ended their performances.

GloRilla published a statement on Twitter, saying, “I am devastated and heartbroken by the tragic deaths that occurred after Sunday’s show. My fans mean the world to me. Let’s pray for their families and for a speedy recovery for everyone affected.”

At a press conference on Monday, Rochester Police Chief David M. Smith said preliminary reports indicated chaos erupted when concert attendees mistakenly thought they heard gunshots.

“There are reports that gunshots were heard causing panic in the crowd,” Smith said. “We have no evidence that any shots were fired or that anyone was shot or stabbed at the scene.”

Rochester Mayor Malik Evans called the deadly stampede a “tragedy of epic proportions”.

The City of Rochester said Wednesday that the Main Street Armory’s pending entertainment license renewal was denied, forcing the venue to close as criminal and regulatory investigations continue.

Inspectors attempt to determine if there have been any code violations.
