‘Death and destruction’: Trump takes violent rhetoric up a notch

Former President Donald Trump went to Truth Social around 1:30 a.m. to again lash out at Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg. The one-term president targeted all senior officials investigating him in his rage posts, calling for their removal.

Trump has called for violence, and Republicans seem to agree with that. Trump is leading in the polls, so his supporters don’t seem to dispute his rhetoric. On Thursday, Trump posted a link containing a photo of himself with a baseball bat next to a photo of Bragg.

Lumpy goes from bad to worse. This time he says if he is charged with crimes there will be “potential for death and destruction”.

“What kind of person can accuse another person, in this case a former President of the United States, who got more votes than any sitting President in history, and leading candidate (by far! ) for the Republican Party nomination, of a crime, when everyone knows that NO crime was committed, and also knows that the potential death and destruction in such a false accusation could be catastrophic for our country?” He asked. “Why and who would do such a thing? Only a degenerate psychopath who really hates the United States!”

Trump projects in that last sentence. I have never seen a president in my life drip with disdain for this country – until Trump. Fortunately, his calls to demonstrate did not succeed. Only a handful of Trump supporters showed up in New York, and counter-protesters outnumbered them.

However, Trump’s sycophants are normalizing the violent rhetoric of the scandal-ridden president.
