Despite reports claiming that Jamie Foxx is in very poor health after suffering a medical complication, his daughter Corinne released a statement on Friday saying that the Ray the star is “out of the hospital”.
“Family update: sad to see how the media is going wild,” Corinne wrote in an Instagram Story. “My father has been out of the hospital for weeks recovering.”
She added: “Actually he was playing pickleball yesterday! Thank you for everyone’s prayers and support! We also have an exciting job announcement coming next week!
Corinne included a misleading headline, saying Foxx’s family were “preparing for the worst” after he was hospitalized.

The initial report came from Speed cameras online on May 9, and quoted an unnamed source.
“Jamie’s people are saying he is fine and improving as doctors try to get to the bottom of his issues,” a source reportedly told the outlet. “But he wouldn’t be in hospital that long if he was well. His friends and family are hoping for the best but preparing for the worst!
The story was picked up by multiple outlets.
Corinne revealed on April 12 that her dad had been hospitalized.
“We wanted to share that my dad, Jamie Foxx, had a medical complication yesterday (April 11),” she shared on Instagram. “Thankfully, with quick action and great care, he is already on the road to recovery. We know how much he is loved and appreciate your prayers. The family is asking for privacy during this time.
Foxx was in Atlanta to shoot the next Netflix movie Back to action when he fell ill. Filming was temporarily halted, but resumed a few days later with a replacement actor.
May 3, TMZ was the first outlet to report that he would not be appearing on the next season of the Fox game show Beat Shazam because he was still hospitalized, with sources urging fans to “pray for Jamie”.
Later in the day, the producers of Beat Shazam posted a statement on Instagram announcing that Nick Cannon would be taking over hosting duties.
“This season, not wanting fans of the game show to miss a minute of fun, Nick Cannon has offered to fill in as guest host for his friends, Jamie and Corinne Foxx,” the statement read.
Later that day, a statement on Jamie’s Instagram account read, “Appreciate all the love!!! Feeling blessed.
Since his hospitalization, friends and fans have been sending the actor well wishes on social media.
