Cameron Williams Nine Network
From January 2006 to December 2010, Williams served as the official sports writer/anchor for the Nine Network’s breakfast show, Today. He also occasionally hosted the Nine Network’s coverage of horse racing, swimming, and other sporting events. Williams replaced Tim Sheridan as Friday and Saturday sports presenter on Nine News Sydney in 2010. Cameron was replaced on Today by Ben Fordham in January 2011, and he will now focus on Weekend Today.
From 2013 to 2015, Cameron hosted the cover of Nine’s Friday Night Football. He was also the network’s host for the 2015 Rugby World Cup. Williams’ media career began in 1984 with a caddy job at Brisbane’s The Courier-Mail newspaper. He then moved to the Melbourne offices of The Australian, where he produced sports articles and editorials before joining the Seven Network in 1988. Williams presented Sportsworld on Seven News in addition to his work as a sportscaster. He was a presenter at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992, where he called on Australian equestrian double gold medalist Matt Ryan.
He joined Fox Sports in 1996, anchoring NRL On Fox, Dally M Awards, Super 12 Rugby, Wimbledon, Winter Olympics, Australian Motorcycle Grand Prix and Fox Sports News. Amid a scandal, Fox Sports refused to renew his contract in 2001.
Williams then worked as a breakfast host on 2HD in Newcastle. Williams also owns Models and Actors, a modeling and talent company in Newcastle.
