Anderson Cooper apparently thinks he’s popular enough to make us doubt our own reactions to Trump’s awful Town Hall. His thinking seems to be a little…twisted, doesn’t it? Via HuffPost:
Critics called the network “shameful” for even hosting the event, which Cooper admitted was “disturbing” and “awful.” He also said it was “disturbing” to hear the audience “laughing and applauding his lies”.
“A lot of you think CNN shouldn’t have given him a platform to speak, and I understand the anger about that,” Cooper said. “But that’s what I get too: the man you were so disturbed to see and hear from last night? This man is the frontrunner for the Republican presidential nomination.
Cooper then pushed back against critics who don’t want to hear from Trump — and don’t want CNN to give him the platform.
“Do you think staying in your silo and only listening to people you agree with is going to make that person leave?” He asked. “If we all only listened to those we agree with, it could actually do the opposite.”
Anderson, Anderson, Anderson. Do you really believe that we Already know who Trump is or what he stands for? Do you think we don’t know the nation has been exposed to abuse from Trump because your boss Chris Licht is trying to make CNN the new Fox? Was it an accident that Tucker Carlson’s ill-fated mentee Kaitlin Collins was chosen to host the event?
Are you sure You are not the one who lives in a silo?
