Days after targeting Ashok Gehlot’s government for “inaction” over alleged corruption when the BJP ruled Rajasthan, former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot is set to address two public offices in the state on Monday.
Mr Pilot sat on a day of fasting in Jaipur on Tuesday, urging the Gehlot government to act on alleged cases of corruption when the BJP ruled the state under Vasundhara Raje.
Defying a warning from the central leadership of Congress that the move would be seen as “anti-party”, Mr Pilot continued his fast from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
On Monday, Mr Pilot will attend a local program at Parmanand Dham in Jaipur’s Shahpura at 11 a.m. and travel to Khetri in Jhunjhunu at 1 p.m. to unveil the statue of martyr Shyoram, according to his office.
Army soldier Shyoram was killed in a shootout with terrorists in Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir in 2019.
After his one-day fast, Mr Pilot said he had raised the issue of corruption under BJP rule and promised the people of Rajasthan that action would be taken against the culprits once Congress was in power. power. But four years after Congress took power, no action has yet been taken.
Meanwhile, Rajasthan Assembly Opposition Leader and BJP MP Rajendra Rathore on Friday asked why Pilot did not raise the issues in the House or during the early days of government if he had any evidence .
Mr Rathore said Mr Pilot’s plane is on ‘autopilot’ mode and only time will tell if it will land or crash.
“Sachin Pilot’s target is Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot who called him ‘nakara’ and ‘nikamma’,” he told reporters in Bharatpur.
