The premiere of act your age was the most-watched half-hour series launch in Bounce TV history.
The sitcom debuted with back-to-back episodes on Saturday, March 4, with a total of 2.14 million viewers, according to Nielsen figures. A special preview of the first episodes also aired on Bounce’s sister network, ION.
act your age stars Kym Whitley, Tisha Campbell and Yvette Nicole Brown.
The three play women in their 50s in the Washington DC/N. Virginia area, who find themselves at a personal crossroads and decide that the best path forward in life is together.
Whitley portrays Bernadette, a successful and sensible property developer. Campbell plays Keisha, the band’s joker who is always up to something, and Brown plays Angela, the former first lady of Norfolk, Va., who seeks to redefine her life after being widowed by her husband, a revered career politician.

The cast also includes Mariah Robinson and Nathan Anderson as Angela and Bernadette’s 20-somethings.
Whitley, Campbell and Brown stopped View on March 1 and discussed the sitcom.
“It’s the Daddy’s Girls, except we carry hot sauce in our purses and go to clubs. But it’s really about three best friends living together and we really go through life solving problems with love and laughter,” Whitley said.
Alyson Fouse (Everybody Hates Chris, The Wanda Sykes Show) created the series and serves as showrunner and executive producer. Other executive producers include Barry Poznick, Bradley Gardner, David Hudson, Ranada Shepard, and Ken Ornstein.
act your age is produced by MGM Television, with a first season of 16 episodes in two parts.
The first eight episodes air weekly on Saturdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Then they will be added to Bounce’s streaming service, Brown Sugar, on Sunday mornings.
Once the first eight episodes have aired, the second half of the season will take place over the summer.
