A homicide investigation is underway following a fatal Newport News shooting on Tuesday morning.
Police were dispatched to the scene around 12:46 a.m. at the 800 block of Old Oyster Point Road, located near Brighton Lane and J Clyde Morris Boulevard.
Upon arriving at the scene, which was outside Hoss’s Deli, law enforcement discovered a man who had been shot.
The victim, identified as Aaron West, 30, from Gloucester, was taken to hospital but succumbed to his injuries.
Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and, at this time, no information is available on the suspect involved.
