On Friday, Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy slammed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis over his dispute with Disney.

“You shouldn’t be President of the United States if you can’t outsmart Mickey Mouse,” Ramaswamy tweeted on Friday. “@RonDeSantisFL rails against Disney’s ‘special privileges,’ but he’s literally the governor who signed some of those crony privileges into law.”

Ramaswamy expanded during a Fox Business Network interview with “Cavuto Coast-to-Coast” guest anchor David Asman early Friday afternoon.

“I respect Governor DeSantis for implementing much of what I wrote in ‘Woke Inc.’ in Florida.”It happened, and I respect him for being an enforcer,” Ramaswamy said in the interview. However, Disney said it wanted to rescind those special privileges.

“Unfortunately one of the special privileges was enshrined in law under Ron DeSantis himself which was actually an exemption from their anti-political discrimination law which he passed and I think that undermines the credibility of this crusade,” Ramaswamy said. “I’m surprised it hasn’t been reported more widely in the media, but I think we need to let businesses be businesses.”

Since March 2022, when DeSantis approved parental rights legislation against resistance from Disney, the two have fought. After Disney attacked the Parental Rights Bill, DeSantis passed legislation to end Disney’s control of the Reedy Creek Improvement District.

Disney sued DeSantis over the law that eliminated his authority over the Reedy Creek Improvement District on Wednesday.
