Jazmin Paez, was charged with solicitation of first-degree murder and unlawful use of a third-degree communication device, court records show. Details regarding his bail and whether it was set or paid were not known at the time of his transfer to Miami-Dade County Jail.
Investigators say the woman contacted an individual on Tuesday who operates a fraudulent website to hire assassins to orchestrate the murder of her young child. Police say the website’s creator designed it to identify and deter individuals seeking to hire assassins.
According to police, the suspect helped her by giving her the boy’s address and photo.
The woman reportedly requested that the task be completed by Thursday.
According to the police report, when they tracked the IP address of the computer used to submit the request, they discovered that it belonged to the woman who submitted it.
Officers attended the home and spoke with the boy’s grandmother, who confirmed the boy was the intended victim based on the online murder request. The police arrived at the house and found the boy safe and sound.
The suspect then agreed to pay $3,000 for the murder assignment while investigators posed as the hitman.
The police then went to her home and took her into custody.
The murder-for-hire website was still open in his computer’s browser, according to investigators, who did not speculate on his motivation.
